Careers at Solid Projects

Junior Graphic Designer

Good design is more than making something look nice, and that is the part we enjoy teaching. You will work on real brands, real campaigns and real deadlines, with senior designers close by to look over your work and talk you through the thinking behind every change.

The role

What the job actually is

You will sit with our design team and work across client accounts: social posts, campaign assets, brand collateral, company profiles and the occasional logo. Some days are quick turnarounds and some days are one piece you get to keep refining. You will spend time in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, and time hearing what a client thinks of the work. Both are part of learning the craft.

What you will do

  • Create designs that speak to each client’s audience, not only to your own taste.
  • Take a brief, ask the right questions up front, and turn it into work that answers it.
  • Design social posts, campaign assets and brand collateral across a handful of accounts.
  • Build documents in InDesign: business cards, flyers, brochures, company profiles and letterheads.
  • Source and edit images, and put mockups together so clients can see the work in context.
  • Present your work, take the feedback, and revise it until it lands.

Minimum requirements

  • At least a year of design experience. Studio work, internships and freelance all count.
  • Confident in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
  • Steady under pressure. Deadlines move, and the work still needs to be good.
  • A portfolio that shows range rather than one style repeated.
  • Comfortable talking through your thinking, not only handing over the files.
  • Happy to pick up new skills as the work changes.
01

You will work on live client work early, with a senior designer alongside you while you find your feet.

02

A studio that covers brand, web, content and campaigns, so you see where design sits in the bigger picture.

03

Small teams and real responsibility. People who step up here move up, and get paid accordingly.

Your portfolio does most of the talking

Send it through with your CV. It tells us more than a list of software ever could. If you also take photos, edit video, or have run social media accounts, mention it. None of those are requirements, but they count in your favour.
